Who Is Jesse?
Jesse Christiaan van Olderen is the creator of Jes Tube. He created Jes Tube back in 2015 as a way of showing his videos to his friends. Because it was nothing serious yet, he didn't change the name of the channel until 2016. It was originally named M-Schimdt and later it became Jesse van Olderen until he named the channel Jes Tube and didn't change it anymore.
His first movie was released in 2016 and from that moment on he knew what he wanted to do in his life, he wanted to be a movie maker.
His first movie was YouTubeKids, in total there are 9 YouTubeKids movies. His favorite is YouTubeKids 6 because in that movie he travels back to his older movies.
Not only does Jesse make movies, he also makes shows. His longest running show GameBoy ran from 2018 till 2023.
Childhood (2005-2015)
Jesse was born on October 25th 2005 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He grew up watching a lot of old movies and kids-TV shows. His favorite show growing up was Bassie & Adriaan. He still takes inspiration from that show and he's still a big fan even though it's made for kid. In 2012 Jesse got his first Nintendo console, a 3DS. Before that he got a camera in 2010 but the 3DS was the real beginning of movie making for him.
The 3DS was also the beginning of gaming for Jesse and even though Jesse would have probably still had a YouTube channel without it, he would have never made GameBoy and he would have never been as big as he is now. In 2014 his parents got a tablet. Everyone had to use it. His mother, his father and his brother but when Jesse found out he could film stuff with it he got really interested.
In September of 2015 Jesse recorded his first video. A little while later it got deleted but it was reuploaded in December of 2015. This is where Jesse's YouTube life began. The tablet was replaced in late 2016 because the quality wasn't great. Jesse still has the tablet in the Jes Tube archive tho since it's a piece of Jes Tube history.
YouTubeKids (2016-2017)
In the summer of 2016 Jesse came up with an idea, he wanted to make a movie. He found out how to edit videos and he had two people who wanted to be in the movie. In 2016 there was a Dutch YouTuber who made a whole series about being hacked and threatened. Everyone knew it and it became a big hype. Jesse had the idea of overexaggerating the whole thing and making a movie out of it. The first movie had Jesse, Sem (his little brother) and a neighbor and they made 3 movies.
Later the movies became known for being very bad but when they made it they were very proud and it even resulted in a whole Dora spin off that lasted till 2020 and there were 3 more YouTubeKids movies in 2019 and 2020. In the end there were 9 YouTubeKids movies. The original trilogy (2016), the Dora trilogy (2017-2020) and the new adventures trilogy (2019-2020). And 2 seasons of the YouTubeKids Dora Show.
16 Tube (2018-2019)
In 2018 Jesse and Dees (the writer of YouTubeKids Dora Editie) got the idea for a YouTubeKids Mario Edition but that was soon scrapped because YouTubeKids was getting boring by then and they soon got the idea of The Super Mario Bros Movie. After that movie they spent the whole year creating movies that helped set the standard of Jes Tube movies now. The final movie in the 16 Tube lineup of movies was YouTubeKids Dora Editie 2
and there was also a movie in the works that would feature all the characters but that movie never happened and most of the movie is lost now.
The Comeback (2020-2021)
2020 started off rough with a forgotten movie. Clone From Another Universe sounded good on paper but it failed when Jesse tried to make it a reality. Luckily a few months later Jesse and his good friend made The Mission. The movie was set to be released on March 23rd 2020 but it was cancelled and it was never publicly released other than to some friends and to the school where they filmed it. A year later Jesse wanted to remake the movie for the whole world to see but Roshaan didn't wanna be it in. He did co-write this version tho.
After the original version of The Mission, Jesse went back to his old safe spot, he made more YouTubeKids movies. YouTubeKids 5 and 6 are still some of his favorite Jes Tube movies. There was also another Dora movie but that sucked and it's one of the worst recent Jes Tube movies. Along with that, Jes Tube turned 5 years old at the end of 2020 and Jesse recorded a special compilation with some footage of The Mission, an unreleased version of a GameBoy song (at that time), and more. Then in 2021 Jes Tube started to die down a little so Jesse tried to save it with a new show, Harmsen & De Boer and a new GameBoy movie, Hassan VS The World.
Hassan VS The World was very hard to make. There was one version filmed with the season 4 Hassan shirt but then the shirt got to small and Jesse bought a new Hassan shirt and shooting began. When the movie was done, Jesse wanted to export the movie but all the footage was lost. Everything that remained were the special effects and music tracks. After a few days of searching all the footage was recovered and the movie was released and it was the longest Jes Tube movie at that time. It was a big succes. After that movie Jesse and Sem made a Christmas movie featuring their new characters, Harmsen & De Boer.
Harmsen & De Boer: Het Kakker Kerstfeest was a big succes too and it brought in a lot of new viewers. This movie had some problems too. When Jesse opened the file of the movie one day, it went corrupt and all the edits were gone. There's still a test version with all the old effects. Jesse started editing again and the movie was released on Christmas eve 2021.
Change Of Plans (2022-)
In 2022 Jesse finished the script of the new version of The Mission. While at school he and a friend started filming the movie there. Filming got a bit delayed tho because all of the other stuff that was happening. In 2020 Jesse started Jes Tube Music, that got changed to Jes Tube Records in 2021 but it was all just for Jesse's own albums. In 2022 Brogan White joined. Later that year, Charlie Clark joined too. Jes Tube Records became a real record label! Right before The Mission got released the soundtrack got released on all big streaming platforms but also on CD. It's not clear how many CD's were made but it was a huge hit and a lot of people wanted it. All these CD's were made by Jesse himself in his room but it became too much for him to handle so the CD production stopped.
After the succes of The Mission, one of the biggest characters from the movie got his own show. Ronald Bump (the show) came out and it was also a big succes! One episode was released before the movie came out but after the movie there were a few episodes and a whole season recorded in Greece. Even though Jes Tube was getting big again, Jesse had to make a hard choice. After Hassan VS The World, GameBoy got worse and worse. Jesse didn't wanna keep making episodes because it would ruin the charm of the whole show. In 2023, The Mission & Ronald Bump's Vacation was released on DVD just in time for the Holiday season. In November of that year, Jesse & one of his friends, Jasper Stehouwer, started making GLU-News.
